* Okay so here's the thing...given by what we see/hear in the preview, it's extremely difficult to tell who is what. Given Oda's trend, 'Golden Lion' seems to be a nickname. Which means the shadowy figure sitting at the end of the hall COULD be 'Golden Lion' in which case, 'shiki' here could be his name ie. 'Shiki the Golden Lion'. HOWEVER, it's also possible that it refers to a ceremony ie. 'Ceremony of the Golden Lion'. Someone who can pick up nuances waaaaaaaaaaaay better than me in Japanese can certainly field that but that's how vague it appeared to both me and Haruka.
So yeah, although I'm not willing to start shouting, "CANON MOVIE!", from the rooftops just yet, it seems that Oda actually wrote the whole story himself otherwise they wouldn't be making a big deal about it. If so, that's absolutely AMAZING. He had to have finished the story last year which would mean he did that WHILE wrapping up all the 10th Anniversary activities!!!!! Can you freaking believe it!?
He was meant to be a manga author. Really. The man is incredible. |
